Recently I switched to GMMP as Poweramp has not been updated in years. I keep all of my music on an SD card (10000+ tracks) so this limits my choices when it comes to music players. Compared to Poweramp, GMMP has a feature I've missed from having an iPod: smart playlists. To get to my point, GMMP is full featured, stable, has no problem loading and manipulating large libraries. The UI is clean, intuitive and customizable. I would give this app 5 stars but my playlist management experience has been awful. This can be traced back to one issue, no duplicate track removal or prevention. My main playlists all have at least 100 tracks in them. My everyday playlist is upwards of 1000 tracks. I can't remember what I've added to it. This wouldn't be an issue but I also can't change the sort order of playlists.

If you listen to an offline music library, this is the best app by far. Compared to this, Google Play Music doesn't even try to compete. It's very customizable, but I'll just highlight my personal favorite features: (1) Can sort an artist's albums chronologically (2) When sorting alphabetically, can ignore leading "The" (3) Customizable gestures (4) "Play random album" feature (5) Can edit metadata in app

The new dynamic theme is great. Everything else has made this app noticeably worse. App constantly crashes. Cannot reorder songs in the queue. Getting rid of the tabs at the top and hiding everything in a menu causes extra unnecessary clicks. Artist list used to show total number of songs by that artist in the library. This is now gone. Album list inside the artist used to show the year of the album. That's now hidden until you click the album itself. So many other unnecessary changes.

You can reorder the queue by long pressing and dragging or enabling the "handle" view mode.
